Limited weld COMPACT RULES 2021
General rules
All cars must have a roof sign. Min 15”x15”, max 24”x 24”, contrasting colors. Don’t use sign to strengthen car.
NO V8's. 4 or 6 cylinders only.
All bodies must be on stock oem frames for year and model of car.
No painting, oiling, or greasing of frame, you will be loaded.
Driver must have helmet, eye protection, and seat belt, racing lap belt preferred.
Fuel limit is 10 gallons, no more.
All drivers must attend drivers meeting.
All winnings and trophies must be picked up at the end of event, will NOT be mailed
NO hot rodding in pits, you will be loaded!!
Any questions call, don’t assume or you will be cutting or loading the car
Competition rules
Driver must remain in car with safety gear on until notified by official that its safe to exit
Drivers door hits are illegal, if deemed to be careless or intentional, you will be broke off, do Not use DD as a shield or hits will not be called
NO SAND BAGGING !! you have 60 seconds to make a hit, extra time will be allowed for being hung up or restarts. Hitters get more time then baggers
Car prep
All glass, plastic and pot metal must be removed from car, also all outer door hardware.
Interior of car must be cleared of any broken glass and other debris.
No added weight
Rear seats and all other no essential interior componments must be removed.
Drivers seat must be secure, fuel cell and batteries
Building rules
No full engine cradles allowed, no transmission protectors. Cross member must be stock on RWD cars. You are allowed a simple carb protector, heads up only. Cannot connect to or touch firewall. Also cannot contact strut towers. Do not use to strengthen the car, this is an safety item.
No leaf conversions, no full frame.
Unibody cars only
Stock rear ends only allowed in RWD. NO full floating or braced rear ends. May weld posi.
Stock suspension only, in front, may use spacers to raise bumper, max 20” bumper height, to bottom of bumper.
You may weld a arms down with 2x2 strap
Any unibody car with max 110 wheel base, rwd or fwd. no pickups, minivan, suvs, or custom built vehicles.
May weld all doors solid, weld 5 on, 5 off on trunk lid. flat 3” x ¼’ max material may be used on both. If not welded, min 2 places per door 9 wired or 3/8” chain 1 foot long.
allowed basic 4 point cage, 2 door bars, dash bar and rear seat bar, with tank protector. tank protector max width, 24”, min 4” off floor and 2” from rear sheet metal. Allowed 4 down bars total, 2 per side, other parts of cage must be min 4” off floor. Dash bar must NOT be further ahead then firewall. Also may have halo bar, must be within 10” of drivers seat.
Sheet metal may be seam welded, front of A arms forward.
Other then what’s stated no additional welding allowed.
Must have at least 1, max 2, bar, chain, or wire running from roof to cowl, for driver protection. May be welded in in. cannot extend past front of wiper cowl. No rear window bars allowed
Allowed total 6 hood bolts, ¾” max. front 2 PER SIDE can attach to the frame, rear most must only attach to sheet metal.
Any tires are allowed, no solid drive tires, valve stem protectors ok.
Creasing of cars is allowed.
Must have a tubing or plate on drivers door for safety, max 6”x ¼” may not exceed 6” past door seams.
Unlimited #9 wire
May remove sub frame bushings, and rebolt solid with ¾” all thread and washers, max 5x5” washers allowed.
Batteries must be secure and covered with non flammable material, ie rubber mat.
Fenders may be trimmed and rebolted with max 6 bolts per fender, 3/8” max bolt size, washers no bigger then 1”
BUMPERS and BUMPER BRACKETS
Compression shocks may be drained, slid back and welded solid.
ANY automotive bumper may be used.
Homemade bumpers are permitted, they must NOT be taller then 8.5”, may have 14” point measured from the farthest point over a 36” span. If using factory skin you may load it.
If not using OEM shocks, you may weld 14”x4”X ¼” for bumper plate. Must remain 1 piece, but may be welded to top, bottom or either side of frame. No plate or shocks may be longer then 14”
Bumpers may be narrowed.
Upper motor mounts (fwd)
May replace upper motor mount with 2x2 square tubing, must be bolted on 1 end, cannot be welded solid on both ends
REPAIRS
ALLOWED 4 EA 4X6X1/8” REPAIR PLATES per side on preran cars. Attach to any side of frame but all plates must have 1” gap between them. Fresh cars may have 1 plate, 4X6x1/8” per side
INSPECTION PRODCEDURES
You will be given (1) chance to correct any items on car, max 2 times thru inspection.
Cars may be impounded and staged in a secure location after tech.
DO NOT come thru tech if the car is NOT done.
